Lustrous hematite blades up to 10 mm on a bed of calcite and albite. The piece stems from a well-known find of Georg Mühlburger in the early 1970's at the north slope of Nussingkogel mountain. The piece was in the collection of Dr. Heinz Weninger (Montanuniversität Leoben) and is depicted in his monograph "Die alpinen Kluftmineralien der österreichischen Ostalpen", Sonderschrift DER AUFSCHLUSS, 1974. Comes with the original Weninger collection label.

Floater piece from an alpine fluorite cleft worked by the local field-collector R. Hasler in 1998 and 2013. Nested green octahedra overgrown by a second fluorite generation of rhombic dodecahedral habit with ink-blue color accents, and clear needle quartz. The specimen is in pristine condition all around. A detailed find report is published in R. Hasler, Lapis 03/2014, p. 21-25.

17-001 - Quartz Scepter - sold

Impressive quartz scepter with a 13 cm head towering above a group of regular rock crystals. The scepter is developed 360° and in very good condition. A major piece by alpine standards. Found by Reinhold Plaickner (Ahrntal) in 2008 on the north face of Gjaidtroghöhe mountain. Comes with custom acrylic base.
